Karl Vierling

Karl Vierling is the Director of Bands at Perry Meridian High School from Indianapolis, Indiana. His duties include directing the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Marching Band. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Indiana State University where he studied under Dr. Jimmy Finnie.

Prior to joining Perry Meridian, Mr. Vierling was the Assistant Director of Bands at Franklin Community High School in Franklin, IN where he co-directed the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and served as Director of Percussion. Mr. Vierling has also taught and arranged for several state and national finalist band and percussion programs in Indiana and Kentucky. His performance experiences include the Eklipse Drum and Bugle Corps, Indianapolis Colts Drumline, and performing alongside Madonna and CeeLo Green in the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show. From 2013-2015, Mr. Vierling served as President of the Indiana Percussion Association.

Mr. Vierling currently resides in Greenwood, Indiana with his wife Jennifer and their two sons, Nathaniel and Ian, and their German shepherd, Kula.
